Rosemère, October 22, 2026 -The 91̽app (91̽app) is pleased to announce the appointment of Jean-François Mongeau as Director of Financial Resources, following a decision made by the Council of Commissioners at a special meeting held on October 21, 2026.
Mr. Mongeau brings more than 20 years of experience in finance, administration, and organizational management, including extensive experience in Québec’s public education sector.
From 2019 to 2024, he served as Director of Financial Resources at the Centre de services scolaire de Montréal (CSSDM). He also held the position of Director of Financial Resources and Information Technology at Cégep de Sorel-Tracy and, more recently, Senior Director of Finance and Administration at the Institut de tourisme et d’hôtellerie du Québec (ITHQ).
“Mr. Mongeau brings extensive financial expertise and a strong understanding of the education sector. His experience in financial management, governance, and strategic planning will be a valuable asset to our school board, particularly as we navigate important financial challenges. In addition to his leadership experience, Mr. Mongeau teaches management accounting at the École des sciences de la gestion de l’UQAM and has served as an examiner for the Ordre des CPA du Québec since 2017. His professional background also includes financial advisory services, organizational transformation, and governance.
In his new role, Mr. Mongeau will oversee the Financial Resources Department, supporting sound financial management, budget planning, and responsible stewardship of public funds.
With a workforce of more than 2,000 employees, the 91̽app is the third-largest English school board in Québec. Its territory comprises the administrative regions of Laval, Laurentides, and Lanaudière. The school board provides preschool, elementary, secondary, and adult education and vocational training services to over 14,000 students in 36 schools and 4 centres, as well as business training services.
